Bio
I am a Senior Specialist at Laurea University of Applied Sciences and a social design practitioner with a long-standing commitment to participation, inclusion and social justice. My background is in gender studies, educational psychology and nursing. My work focuses on how design can support meaningful change in complex social contexts, particularly in relation to migration, integration, language learning and community engagement. Throughout my career, I have worked at the intersection of design, education, research and public services, developing and facilitating participatory processes that bring together people with diverse backgrounds, experiences and forms of expertise. I am especially interested in how design can create spaces where those whose voices are often marginalised can influence decisions, shape services and contribute to societal development. My current work includes leading and contributing to national and international projects that explore participatory design, living labs, service design and social innovation. I am particularly interested in the ethical dimensions of co-design, including questions of power, care, representation and responsibility. Alongside practice-based development work, I contribute to academic discussions on ethics and participation in design.Details
