Borbála Marosán

Bio

Borbála Marosán is a Junior Research Fellow at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest, and a PhD student in Sociology at Corvinus University of Budapest. As a member of the MOME Society and Action Lab, she works on various practice-based design research projects. Her professional work focuses on social and environmental sustainability, primarily through practice-based design research with children and communities living in urban environments and segregated rural settlements. Supporting children’s participation is central to her work, alongside her research, she is involved in volunteer initiatives and collaborative projects with both national and international partners that aim to advance this field. Children’s rights form a key pillar of her professional activities. This topic is the main focus of her doctoral research, and she is also a member of the Association for Free Play, an organization advocating for children’s right to free play, particularly in urban settings. She is currently training to become a Design and Visual Arts teacher, where she explores democratic education and gains practical teaching experience using visual arts methodologies. Her work emphasizes community empowerment, collective action and social design, promoting sustainable change through collaborative processes that rethink shared spaces, strengthen social connections and foreground participation from an early age.
