Andi is a lecturer in the Interior Design Program at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Indonesia, and a researcher at the Design and Culture Research Group. He holds a PhD in Design from Lancaster University and was previously a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of York, UK.
His research focuses on participatory design — particularly co-design practices in Global South contexts. Current projects engage urban communities around issues of disaster and democracy, including building city resilience against natural disasters, climate change, and repressive political pressures.
Beyond academia, Andi is the initiator of the Social Design Laboratory, a community platform for design experimentation and activism in urban settings.
