Seçil Uğur Yavuz is an associate professor at Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Faculty of Design and Art. She completed a Ph.D. in design at Politecnico di Milano and has a background in industrial design and product, service, system design. Her research spans the analogue and digital worlds to create new modes of interaction, alternative modes of production and new types of hybrid materials, such as electronic textiles. Through participatory design and co-design methods, her research takes place in contexts such as Fablabs, makerspaces, schools, social centres and museums, interacting with diverse communities such as children, makers and craftsmen. Since October 2022, she has been the study course director of Eco-Social Design Master at unibz. Besides, she also teaches in Design for Children Master programme. Her research aims at opening debate and stimulating new visions of interaction within the entanglement of our socio and technological spheres towards sustainable and desirable future(s).
