Bio

What drives me is a commitment to contributing to a just and meaningful society where all perspectives are valued. I believe that arts and design practices can play a crucial role in achieving this, as these fields have the unique ability to engage with and integrate diverse forms of knowledge and modes of communication. Currently, I am a PhD candidate at the University of Humanistic Studies, where I am conducting a participatory action research project in two distinct care settings: the care of individuals with intellectual disabilities and the care of veterans experiencing moral injury. In collaboration with communities of practice in both fields, we explore what constitutes ‘good care’ from the perspectives of all those involved, and work together to identify ways to improve practices within these contexts. In addition to my PhD work, I work as a lecturer and design coach in the Bachelor’s program in Design for Change and Innovation at the University of the Arts Utrecht. I teach courses in critical thinking, creative research methods, and ethics, and I also have the privilege of supervising students in their final year projects. Prior to my current roles, I worked as a freelance curator and researcher for various small NGOs, focusing on projects that intersected art, design, and social problems. I have a background in art history and philosophy of science, which informs my interdisciplinary approach to both my research and teaching.
