Bio
Kayla Chen is a social design practitioner and researcher from China, exploring how mobility and community shape new forms of living and organizing. Her work focuses on translocal design cultures and the situatedness of designers in contexts of movement and change. Bridging design methods and anthropological approaches, she uses ethnography and participatory action research to study how small and distributed organizations sustain infrastructures of care and collaboration. Kayla holds an MA in Design for Change from the University of Edinburgh and a BBA in Marketing and Communications from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen.
