Hatice is an interdisciplinary design researcher and educator. Her research and teaching focus on the transformative roles of design, emphasizing participation, collaboration, social change, empowerment, democracy, and critique. She also studies the transformation of material culture and practices (affordances and appropriation) from a sociological perspective. She works as an Assistant Professor and the Founding Head of the Department of Industrial Design.
