Dr Bori Fehér is an architect, social designer and design strategist specialising in resilience and sustainability. She is the Co-Chair and Co-Founder of the Social Design Network and an Associate Researcher at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME), Budapest, where she has led social, ecological and humanitarian design projects with students and researchers for more than a decade.
Her research bridges rural and urban contexts, with a focus on innovating stakeholder collaboration. On the one hand, she conducts practice-based research with underprivileged communities in rural peripheries; on the other, she develops urban social innovation initiatives in partnership with local communities, municipalities and other key stakeholders. Her doctoral dissertation, defended with distinction, explored Resilient Communities – Opportunities of Social Design.
Since 2014, Bori has been a Visiting Scholar at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) Center for Social Design in Baltimore, USA. Earlier in her career, she worked as an architect in New York and for Architecture for Humanity. She has presented her work at numerous international platforms. In recognition of her contributions, Bori received the Millennium Award from the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office in 2019 and the Aurum Futuri Award from MOME in 2023.
