Bio

Elvira Todaro (Kansas City, MO, USA, 1975). Full Professor of Design. School of Design, Carrara Academy of Fine Arts. Eco and Social Designer, Artist, and Performer. Degree in Industrial Design, Polytechnic University of Milan. PhD in "Innovative Technologies of Informatics & Communication, Engineering, and Robotics," Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, Pisa. Founding member of the "Digital Culture Laboratory" (Research, Teaching, and Services), University of Pisa. Founding member of the "Art and Robotics Group," Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, Pisa. She was part of the European Network of Excellence "Enactive" and the European "Skills" Project, in which she defined her scientific research and artistic production as "Kinesthetic Thinking." She conducts research and training activities dedicated to Social Innovation and "Psychophysical Well-being." Her specific interest in field research and participatory design approaches has allowed her to experiment and develop a Human-centered Design (HCD) approach and tools to support co-design processes.
