Durre Shehwar Ali is a multidisciplinary designer and educator, currently an Assistant Professor for Design & Interdisciplinary Practice and Program Coordinator for the Interdisciplinary Design program under the UNESCO Chair of Inclusion Through Arts at Beaconhouse National University, Lahore. Her research explores the complex dynamics of power, politics, and neocolonial practices in design and pedagogy. As an Industrial Designer and Researcher, she has collaborated with organizations globally addressing critical social and healthcare challenges, including initiatives for paraplegia, clean water solutions for urban slums, and learning platforms for underserved children, co-designing with street vendors. Additionally, Durre also explores the effects of solutionism and frictionless environments on democratic systems and public spaces, focusing on the intersection of design, technology, and the socio-political landscape.
